COMMERCE CITY, Colo. - Nathaniel Dory brought "Endurance" to the Safelite AutoGlass shop in Commerce City Thursday.

"That's the nickname I had for my car," says Dory.

Endurance was in need of some TLC. The 1997 Subaru Legacy has a shattered windshield and a battered body, thanks to Wednesday's hail storm.

Business at the garage along Quebec St. has doubled since the storm hit.

Store manager Rich Garcia says the type of damage they're seeing is typical of a spring storm - mostly broken windshields and dents

If a vehicle owner has comprehensive insurance, the carrier will usually cover the cost of replacing a windshield, which usually costs $175 to $300, depending on the make and model of the vehicle.

'Endurance' got a new one Thursday.

"I'll have to get the rest fixed at some point," says Dory. "But it still runs."

As of Thursday, State Farm insurance said it had received more than 750 auto-related claims and 370 homeowner
