Motorpoint and Co-operative Motor Group receive SAF approval Motor Trader

The Co-operative Motor Group, the Yorkshire-based franchised dealer business, and car supermarket Motorpoint and have received SAF approval for selling car finance products.

The SAF test was introduced by the Finance & Leasing Association in 2007 to improve dealer knowledge and consumer confidence in point of sale motor finance.

The Co-operative Motor Group, number 32 in teh Motor Trader Top 200, has put its 129 sales staff through the SAF test.

Co-operative Motor Group group operations support manager Ian Beardmore said:

"As part of the Co-operative's ethical stance it is important to ensure our sales teams are competent to advise customers on the best funding options available, the SAF accreditation will give our customers the reassurances our team can do this."

Motorpoint's 100 sales staff completed the web-based tests set by the FLA in order to earn the SAF certificate.
