Asian Markets Trade Notably Higher On Wall Street Cues Daily Markets

(RTTNews) - Tracking cues from Wall Street where stocks rallied sharply overnight after the Chinese government reaffirmed its commitment as a long-term investor in Europe, Asian markets are mostly up with notable gains on Friday. Firmer oil and commodity prices too are contributing to the surge.Financial stocks lead the pack of gainers. Stocks from energy, material, consumer staples and industrial sections are also trading notably higher.

The benchmark S&P/ASX 200 index is currently trading at 4,438, up 58.8 points or 1.3% over its previous closing mark. The All Ordinaries index is up 60.9 points or 1.4% at 4,460.

In the banking space, ANZ Bank, Commonwealth Bank of Australia, National Australia Bank and Westpac Banking Corporation are all trading notably higher. Macquarie Group is also trading firm.

Among top miners, BHP Billiton is up 1% and Rio Tinto is gaining about 1.7%, while Newcrest Mining is up marginally.

Miner BHP Billiton says it has confirmed the formation of the joint venture for its Indonesian Coal Project with a subsidiary of PT Adaro Energy TBK following the completion of Government approvals. Adaro has a 25% interest in the ICP joint venture, with BHP Billiton holding the remaining 75%.
